Museum Pedagogy 2 /op 2+1

Aims:

The course will help students understand the key notions of museum education, evaluate art mediation trough museum institutions, analyse the relationship between community and museum and the roles they play, focusing on adults. The course provides an introduction to museum education by exploring the perspectives and roles of the museum educator. During the course we will analyze the artistic, cultural, social factors that led to the transformation of museums from the 1990s (new museology, radical museology, new institutionalism) and other institutional forms (e.g artist run spaces, art academies, biennales), in connection with relevant turns appeared in the contemporary art field (discursive turn, educational turn, performative turn). 

During the seminars students will practice planning educational activities for groups  of visitors.
